Update on the COVID-19 booster programme
Who is being offered a Autumn booster?
COVID-19 is more serious in older people and those with a weakened immune system. Protection from the vaccine may be lower and may decline more quickly in these people. For this reason the following groups of people will be offered the Autumn booster first
Residents in a care home for older adults and staff working in care homes for older adults • Frontline health and social care workers • All adults aged 50 years and over • Persons aged 5 to 49 years in a clinical risk group, as set out in the Green Book • Persons aged 5 to 49 years who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression • Persons aged 16 to 49 years who are carers, as set out in the Green Book.
*Booster vaccination bookings cannot be made by practice staff. Bookings have to be made directly onto the National Booking system or by calling 119. Our clinic at Princes Park Health Centre will start offering appointments in September.
To allow us to manage the current Coronavirus Pandemic we have removed the ability to book directly online with the Practice for any face to face appointments for the moment.
Our Reception team will navigate all calls to the most appropriate care giver who will contact you to arrange an appointment if they feel you need to be seen face to face. Reception have been trained to ask you relevant questions and we ask you to support the Practice by following this process.
