Minor Eye Condition service (MECS)

Sudden onset of blurred or double vision?

Eye pain or discomfort?

Red eye or eyelids?

Lumps and bumps in the vicinity of the eye?

Ingrowing eyelashes?

Watery eyes?

Dry/gritty/uncomfortable/itchy eyes?

You would be best suited visiting the Minor Eye Condition service. 

Phone Specsavers Eastbourne on 01323 649 767 and ask for the Minor Eye Conditions Service or MECS. Your call will be triaged and you will be given an appointment. If your need is deemed to be urgent you will be seen within 24 hours and routine problems will be seen within 5 days. 

Physiotherapy services

Do you have a problem that is affecting your bones, joints or muscles and would like an assessment from a physiotherapist?

Sussex MSK Partnership East offers a self-referral service for physiotherapy. This allows patients to access physiotherapy services without needing to see their GP/clinician first. If you are aged 16 or older, living in East Sussex and registered with our practice, you can follow the link below to find out more.

Emergency Dental Service

On most occasions accessing urgent care with your usual dentist is the best way to support with any ongoing care needs. All local NHS Dental Practices are expected to help patients seeking urgent dental care regardless if they are on the practice business list or not. The East Sussex Emergency NHS Dental Service can only treat patients who have an urgent care need that meets the strict triage criteria around clinical symptoms and attendance can only be made by appointment. Social Prescribing

Your doctor isnt' the only person who can help you feel better. You can improve your health and wellbeing through social prescription. Your Social Prescriber can help you with a range of issues, including: Social isolation, loneliness, emotional wellbeing, long term health conditions, Life changing events such as birth, retirement and bereavement, loss of confidence, financial issues and poor health linked to housing or housing conditions. You can either speak to someone at the surgery or email sxicb-esx.socialprescribingreferrals@nhs.net

Your Health and Wellbeing Coaches are here to support you to develop knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve your health and wellbeing goals. Support can be offered on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting and can support you with long term conditions, diet and lifestyle. Health in Mind

We all go through low points at times and it is not unusual to experience symptoms such as stress, anxiety and depression. Health in min is a free NHS service for anyone in East Sussex experiencing these kinds of emotional or psychological difficulties. Health in Mind is a therapy service and not an urgent care or crisis service
